Book Review: Requiem (Delirium 3) by Lauren Oliver

Requiem (Delirium, #3)Requiem by Lauren Oliver
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I just finished reading Requiem a few minutes ago. It is part 3 of the Delirium Trilogy. The story starts just where Pandemonium left off -- Alex is back. Lena, who has for a time believed Alex was dead, is now becoming comfortable with having Julian by her side and is now confronted with the fact that Alex is not dead and has made it into the Wilds. They are now all invalids and members of the resistance.

Lauren Oliver has managed to write an engaging book. It is an exciting read and the story unfolds through the eyes of Lena and her childhood friend Hana. While Lena is an invalid, Hana has gotten the "cure" and is about to marry her match, Fred Hardgrove the new mayor of Portland. They have been separated since Lena escaped to the wilds and is about to cross paths again.

I have to admit that this book is more exciting than Pandemonium, which in turn is more exciting than Delirium. Between Lena and Hana, I am more inclined to prefer reading the story through Hana's eyes.

Writers of The Month Blog Award Nomination

It has come as a surprise, but my favorite blogger (a pretty princess named Jodie) has decided to nominate moi for an award -- Writers of the Month Blog Award. Of course, I am mega flattered (blush, blush). You can view her other nominees (there are supposed to be five of us) via her lovely blog Oh Hello Heart Strings

There are rules and I am copy-pasting them here:

Writers of The Month Blog Award!

✌Must nominate 5 active bloggers.
✌Nominees must have less than 1,000 followers.
✌Once you've been nominated, You should pass the award too!
✌*Not-a-must-do. It's your choice! ☺

To make this extra FUN
⚛ Prepare 10 Questions for the nominees to answer.
⚛ 5 Trvia's for your readers to know.
☕ Please use the image when doing the post.
☕ No changing of rules, awards, image, font.

Now it appears, well being a nominee and all, that I need to answer some questions. Therefore, I am answering those questions here on my blog.

☮1. Why did you blog?

My answer to that question is fairly simple -- I love to write and what better way of writing out the crazy in my head through a blog?

☮2. Tea or Coffee?

I like both actually. I drink tea (chai) twice a day -- once at breakfast and once at tea time which is about 4 p.m. I do not drink coffee as often though but I do like it as much as I like tea.

☮3.Top 3 Blogs You Read

The top 3 blogs I read regularly are:

☮4. What makes you happy?

A sunny yet cool day, my dogs waking me up in the morning, watching my Dad do some gardening, looking at flowers in bloom, having a nice cool glass of mint lemonade, reading a new book, and getting nominated for awards.... :)

☮5. Cookies or Cakes?

I like cookies but I love cakes.... Chocolate cake in particular. Though a blueberry cheesecake will do nicely :)

☮6. Sweet or Bitter?

If it's chocolate, I like bitter dark chocolate. Otherwise, me like sweet :)

☮7. Cat or Dog?

I love dogs (no offense to cats -- I used to have pet cats when I was a little girl).

☮8. Who is the one who inspires you?

My Dad. His wisdom, patience, jokes, and even his chai are just some of the things I really love about him. He gives me the courage to face life's tough challenges with a sense of humor (with some ebil touches... bwahahahahahaaaaaaa).

☮9. What's your favorite Bible Verse?

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. -- Proverbs 3:5

☮10. What is your favorite book?

Darn! You mean I have to choose? Yikes! My list of favorite books is rather long. But one of them, a book that I reread more often than most of my other favorites is Gone With The Wind.
