Book Review: Plague (Gone Series Book 4)

Plague by Michael Grant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Plague is probably a lot better than its predecessor, Lies. The story now focuses on the FAYZ kids who now have to deal with a very serious illness. The kids are getting sick and a lot are dying. Medicines are very hard to come by and even the Healer is unable to do much about the new disease. There is also the problem with brand new monsters -- giant bugs which are very difficult to kill. The talking coyotes are still making trouble and the Darkness is becoming more and more evil.

As with the previous books in the series, there are a lot of characters that the reader needs to keep track of. There are several things happening all at once. It can become confusing but with a story that is so engrossing, action-packed, and fast-paced, the reader just cannot help but get caught up in it.

Plague (Gone, #4)One thing I really like about the Gone series is that it explores so many different viewpoints, personalities, values, dreams, needs, wants, and flaws. The reader will find that there are sides to the characters that they may not have thought existed.

For those who have read the earlier books in the series and believe that things cannot get any bloodier or gorier, think again. Michael Grant just makes twisted things more twisted. Drake, who is already one sick monster, just keeps getting sicker and more evil. Plague is a nail-biter and I just can't wait to finish reading the next two books in the series.
